While I was on my self imposed hiatus I managed to keep up on what was going on in Illinois, especially where pension reform is concerned.
Since Pat Stumblin' Bumblin' Quinn became governor of Illinois he has taken the Obama approach to every issue in Illinois. "It's not me, it's them."
He continues to place the blame on past governors and the legislature. Never once has he stepped up and offered any type of ideas or solutions to Illinois' financial problems. His approach has simply been to say "the legislature must do this or must do that." He has even stopped paying them.
Instead of continually laying the blame at the feet of Speaker of the House Mike Madigan, Senate President John Cullerton, and republican leader Tom Cross the governor could have been sitting down and proposing solutions to these problems.
The governor is as much to blame for each and every problem in Illinois by the mere act of ignorance. His refusal to face down these problems shows just how inept a leader he truly is.
Not that the polidiots in the legislature are not to blame, because they are. But the time to stop the blame game has come and gone. The time for real solutions is now.
Governor Quinn has been hiding behind the state legislature and past governors for so long that he has made himself irrelevant. His opinion means nothing.
It is time for the tax payers to stand up and take back the state. People like Quinn, Madigan, Cross, and Cullerton need to be removed from state politics and lose their pensions because they certainly have not earned them like the blue collar employees they have continually screwed over the years.
