Around the Water Cooler

Things have been quiet lately. At least from my perspective. There are a few items of interest.

Melrose Park:

Once again I want to say great job on the Maricela Vera homicide.

Negron v Village of Melrose Park et al
1:12-cv-03288

Motion by the village for summary judgment is set to be heard on February 13, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.
Will update once this decision is made.

Lavalais v Village of Melrose Park et al
1:12-cv-6921

Motion by village for dismissal has been granted. Lavalais has filed an appeal and that is going through its course.
Will update when available.

Read the Memorandum and Dismissal Order-------->>>>>> HERE

Shankle v Village of Melrose Park et al
1:12-cv-6923

By order of the executive committee this case has been transferred to a new judge. Has nothing to do with the case. They have just pulled cases from various judges to give to a newly appointed judge. I think I saw something like 330 cases were randomly assigned to the new judge.
Will update when available.

Northlake:

I keep getting questions about an incident in Northlake and whether or not I am purposefully not reporting on it.

I have made Freedom of Information requests to several local agencies for information concerning this situation. Once I have everything I will report on it.
